Reading to learn. Are we providing enough opportunities for children to read science books?

When children have access to science books do they have a clear purpose for reading? Just imagine children talking to each other and to their parents evaluating a recent science read!

An absolute win win for every school is the Royal Society pupil panel book prize. Simple registration and you receive books for FREE and your children have a key role in giving feedback that is used for a prestigious author prize.

Join us live this Friday: Celebrating science with the Young People’s Book Prize

Join the Royal Society for a family-friendly virtual award ceremony this Friday lunchtime: Celebrating science with the Young People’s Book Prize. Hosted by Blue Peter’s Lindsey Russell live via YouTube, you and your students will be able to put your questions to the authors and find out more about what inspired their books.

The votes from over 530 schools and groups have been compiled and one of this year’s shortlisted books will be named the winner of the Young People’s Book Prize 2020.
